Dr. Walter Widrig, esteemed art historian and co-founder of the Houston Society of the Archaeological Institute of America, will present a special gallery talk on why the past is still relevant today.

Wine and refreshments will be served.

The Antiquarium will donate 10% of all unframed purchases made during the event to the Houston Society of the Archaeological Institute of America

Walter Widrig is Professor of Art History Emeritus at Rice University and chair of the department from 1982-1985. He is an Elected Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, a Knight of the Republic of Italy, and recipient of the Alumni Gold Medal for Meritorious Service to Rice University. He was honored by the creation of the Summer Traveling Fellowship by students who excavated at Via Gabina
