DIG TEXAS HISTORY!
Discover the roots of Texas at a summer camp presented by the Archaeological Institute of America, Houston Society during a week of adventure and fun beginning July 11 from 9am to noon at St. Mark’s Episcopal School, 3816 Bellaire Blvd.
Texas is a state with many contrasts. At our camp you will:
Explore paleolithic stories,
Hear tales from European settlers,
Discover the contributions of African Americans
Where else can you toss an atlatl, create art like ancient Americans, assemble shards into a pot, sort bones, make your own dye using plants, identify pollen under a microscope, or classify arrow points? Through science and craft activities, you will experience a one-of-a-kind adventure. Most important of all…you will have a chance to excavate at a mock-dig and put your thinking cap on to analyze artifacts.
GIDDY UP PARDNER!
