As we swing into the holiday season, we want to take the opportunity over the next few weeks to thank you (yes, YOU!) for your support of our activities this past fall and to show you some of the things that have been happening around AIA.
So, to begin our own version of the 12 days of the holiday season:
In October, we celebrated International Archaeology Day at the KBR Kids Day on Buffalo Bayou with a visit by the Ancient Encounters Family Tent. Over 700 children and their parents flocked to our tent to learn more about native Americans who lived along the Bayou and in Southeast Texas. High school volunteers helped children make trade-bead bracelets and members of our Ancient Encounters team helped visitors excavate dig boxes to discover what was on the menu for early Americans.
Our thanks to the generosity of Apache who have underwritten this unique program that brings history to life for so many children.
